1978 Giant Food (Landover) Circular

Hello and welcome back to the Shoppes of Battery Mill! For our first actual post, we have a little something from the height of the disco era from a chain you may know as Giant Food. This weekly circular in particular was published on March 8, 1978 in the now-defunct Washington Star newspaper.

 

The bright yellow portion of this newspaper advertisement advertises the opening of the Fox Mill Giant store located in Herndon/Reston, VA. The store likely opened around this time though I cannot confirm when. Said store remains open today, albeit with several remodels inside and out.
